Marijuana Etiquette: Expert Advice on Consuming Marijuana

Let’s begin with some cannabis etiquette that should be recalled in any gathering of marijuana consumption.

  • Be respectful of your surroundings. In someone else’s house, be polite by cleaning up after yourself and asking before helping yourself to food, especially if you want to get invited back. In public places, be mindful that your actions may harm the reputation of cannabis consumers.
  • Be respectful of other people by not applying peer pressure. Let people take the amount they are comfortable with and keep gatherings a non-judgemental place where everybody can enjoy the effects without feeling pressured or paranoid.
  • Know your limits! If it is your first time, start slowly and build up. You don’t want to find yourself in an uncomfortable situation.

Whether you are new to the game, or an experienced player, sometimes it’s good to familiarize yourself with the etiquette of ‘how to smoke cannabis’ to make sure you’re not the one making the faux pas. By using the following pointers as a guide, you can be sure to not embarrass yourself in new situations.

Marijuana Etiquette when Smoking a Joint/Blunt

smoking jointYou may have heard of the saying ‘puff, puff, pass,’ which is a good way of remembering to only take two tokes of the joint/blunt before passing to the next person. There is nothing more irritating than someone who hogs the joint so that not everybody gets their fair share.
Be considerate by not taking too long in between each drag so that people are not waiting forever for their turn.
Make sure you contribute your fair share of marijuana. People are often very generous with their marijuana, but that does not mean you should take advantage. Offer to buy in the next time from a marijuana dispensary and bring snacks as a gesture of appreciation. Be grateful for people’s generosity, as well as being generous yourself, and it is likely you will always have a group to smoke with.
If you aren’t the best roller, then don’t waste time rolling. Don’t be practicing your skills, make people wait, and offer poorly rolled joints in a new group, especially if you are wasting people’s papers and supplies.
Learn in your own time! A good friend won’t mind offering their knowledge, and there are plenty of youtube tutorials! It is also good, however, to recognize if a roller does not want the responsibility every time. Consider learning so that more group members can share the load. Rollers are most often thanked for their efforts by being the person who lights the joint.
A few rules to remember when passing; always pass to the left (which helps to keep tabs if people get too high), ash before you pass, so people don’t get loaded with ash on their clothes, don’t pass if it’s just the roach that’s burning and try not to be the guy who gets the end soggy with mouth saliva.
Be mindful when you are sick to not pass on your germs. Refrain from smoking or wait until everybody else has finished and then take the final drags. Try not to blow smoke in people’s faces (even when you’re not ill).

Marijuana Etiquette When Smoking a Pipe/Bong/Vape

smoking bong If you are changing between smoking a joint/blunt to smoking a pipe, bong or vape, or vice versa, it is good to know that the etiquette is very similar, so you don’t need to worry about learning a whole new set of rules.
Again, be fair with contributing marijuana, let the experts set it up, pass/take turns to the left, and don’t take too long. Do not pass on your germs, and don’t blow in people’s faces (unless they ask you to).
It is usually fair to take in one lungful of smoke, providing it is a good hit (you will know from the amount of smoke you exhale). Additionally, with bongs, try not to light all of the green in the bowl unless you are refilling for each person.
If you knock over the bong, make sure to apologize (but not excessively) and get the bong cleaned up. Mistakes happen, but try not to be the guy who is always so clumsy.
Although it is often for medical purposes, there is still etiquette on how to vape CBD oil. When smoking in public, refrain from smoking in busy areas so that the smoke does not disturb or irritate anybody.

Marijuana Etiquette With Edibles

Weed Edibles The cannabis etiquette concerning edibles is slightly different. Sometimes, Edibles Give You A Different High Than Smoking. Edibles often have a more potent effect and can last up to twelve hours (so please be mindful and choose a time when you do not need to drive).
When offering edibles to other people, make sure you know the dosage so that people can consume to their limits. It is best that people take a small amount and wait an hour or two in between to test the effects.
Label your edibles to ensure no accidental consumption takes place by tempted adults and keep out of the reach of children.
It is optional, but also kind, to take edibles only when there is enough for the people who want to take them. Be the nice guy, and don’t leave anyone out.

Wrap Up

Bear in mind that these rules are rough guidelines, including standards that many cannabis consumers will be familiar with. Every group may have its own particular rules, especially those in close friendship groups, but by being respectful you will likely be welcomed into the group and invited for another session.
Happy smoking, and stay safe!

marijuana high

How To Come Down From A Marijuana High Quickly?

Okay, let’s face it, we have all been there. A joint is getting passed around and we take a few more hits than we should have and now we are feeling way too high. Depending on what type of weed you have been smoking, this can be a pretty uncomfortable situation to be in.

We are all aware of how marijuana affects your body positively. However, an intense marijuana high can, unfortunately, leave you with some unwanted side effects, too, such as:

● Increased levels of anxiety
● Increased heart rate
● Racing thoughts
● Nausea
● Panic
● Hallucinations
● Changed in mood

While all of these are temporary and will usually fade away within a couple of hours, that may be too long to wait for some people. If you were wondering how to come down from a high, you have come to the right place.

In this article, we will go over some easy steps to take to escape from a marijuana high that has gotten just a little too much. Let’s get into it.

Breathe

take a breath With the cannabis law in California changing over the last few years, it’s now as simple as heading out to your nearest cannabis dispensary to pick up some weed. This has undeniably caused a surge in first-time users looking to benefit from the medicinal and recreational uses of cannabis.

However, first-time smokers are prone to consuming way too much on their first try which can leave them suffering from a few of the symptoms listed above. If that is you, then the most effective and most important thing to remember is to BREATHE.

One of the great things about cannabis is that you cannot overdose from it. All of the negative effects that you are experiencing and are extremely temporary.

So how long does marijuana stay in your system? For most people, a high will last around 2-3 hours, depending on how much you ingested, up to a maximum of 6 hours.

If you are feeling too high, take yourself to a calm, quiet place and do some breathing exercises and try to calm yourself down. When you consider how temporary the high is and that it presents no real danger to yourself then you should be able to get things into perspective.

Hydrate

Always make sure you have access to a drink of water or any other sort of beverage that you prefer. Smoking weed can often cause dry mouth that can present difficulties with swallowing and sometimes can make people start to panic.

Stay calm, drink some water and try not to panic.

NOTE: This doesn’t mean that you should drink alcohol. It is better to stay away from alcohol altogether while you are consuming cannabis.

Eat

One of the most commonly known effects of smoking marijuana is an increased appetite, or “the munchies”. We can often crave junk foods that are high in sugars because cannabis and THC can deplete our sugar levels.

If you consume food that is high in fat or sugar then you may start to come down from your marijuana high, just make sure you don’t eat too much and increase your levels of nausea.

Shower

A long warm shower can help to calm the level of anxiety and stress that we may be feeling from an intense marijuana high. People often report that taking a shower can drastically reduce how high they are feeling and can help to bring people back down to earth from an uncomfortable experience.

Take A Nap

taking a nap

Cannabis and sleep are two things that go hand in hand. People have been using cannabis as a sleep aid for a long time now as it helps to relax the mind and sets us up for a night of deep and peaceful sleep.

If you were wondering how to come down from a high, then taking a nap or just going to sleep may be the best option. It’s the best way to calm down and it removes any external stimulation that may be triggering feelings of panic or anxiety.

Try some lemon or black pepper

Lemons are said to contain some chemicals that can counter the psychoactive effects of the THC in marijuana. This is a great trick if you need to do something immediately to try to come down from your high. Make yourself a lemon drink using fresh lemon pieces and try some breathing exercises.

Similarly, black pepper is said to have anti-psychoactive effects. You can either eat some food that has high black pepper content or you can simply smell some black pepper powder. The aroma should be enough to activate the calming effects required.

Bottom Line

So hopefully by now, you know how to come down for a high that has gotten to be a little too intense for your own liking. For best results, it would be wise to mix a number of these strategies together so that you can come down from your high a little faster and get back to a more comfortable level.

One final tip – Consume cannabis that has a higher cannabidiol (CBD) level. This typically helps with lowering anxiety and feelings of panic.

How to Vape CBD Oil: A Guide for Beginners

Maybe someone you know has told you their story about how CBD has helped them with a serious health issue. Or, you’ve read about its many other health benefits of CBD. You’re intrigued and want to know more. You’ve also may have heard about vaping or already use a device, just not with CBD. Even though you may already vape, you may not know how to vape CBD e-liquids. Happily, vaping CBD is as easy as vaping other flavored e- juices.

Why Is Vaping CBD Popular?

Vape Pen CBD Oil CBD has become widely used and respected for its many healing qualities. Some of its uses include reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and inflammation.

CBD can be found in a wide variety of products, from skincare lotions to essential oils. For its health benefits, you can use CBD in a variety of ways, including ingesting it in a tincture, rubbing a cream on your skin, or as an oil in a diffuser. Another easy and safe way to get the many health benefits of CBD is by vaping. If you are new to vaping, there are a few things you should take into consideration before starting. Here are a few tips about CBD vape for beginners and how to vape CBD e-liquid.

Also, for the newbie to cannabis, it’s essential for you to know the difference between the main chemicals, including THC vs. CBD. The non-psychoactive component of the marijuana plant is CBD, also known as cannabidiol. This is one of the chemical compounds that won’t get you high. THC, on the other hand, is a compound from the cannabis plant that, when consumed, will cause you to get high. Both are known for having health benefits. Vaping is an excellent way to consume both THC and CBD easily.

Equipment to Vape CBD Oil

CBD Vape Pens If you already a vape user or are a newbie, do you know how to vape CBD oil? There are basically two types of tools used for vaping CBD. These include smaller vape pens and larger vaporizers.

Larger vaporizers are called mod vaping devices, advanced personal vaporizers, or vape mods. This type of equipment comes in two basic shapes, tubes and boxes. The tube vaporizer has a cylindrical body shape. The box comes in the form of a square or rectangle. Both types of mods have products that come in variations of their shapes and styles.

Users of the larger vape devices, unlike the vape pens, are generally able to regulate the power level. This creates more or less vapor. Most of the mods are reusable and have refillable e-juice containers. For the user that wants more vapor, this type of device has the potential for producing an expansive vapor cloud, also known as the sub-ohm factor.

A vape pen, or e-cigarette, is a thin, pen-like device that is a simple, discreet way to carry your vape with you. It’s an excellent introduction to CBD vape for beginners. You can buy vape pens that are disposable and come with pre-filled cartridges. You can also find e-cigarettes that have refillable cartridges. The pre-filled disposable devices are an excellent choice for when you are traveling or at the office. Refillable cartridges give you the flexibility of adding your favorite flavors and types of vape oils to your device.

There are three parts to a vape device. These include the battery, atomizer, and e-liquid cartridge. The battery powers the device, and activates the atomizer. This heats up a coil that warms up the e-liquid in the cartridge, creating a vapor. The e-liquid, also known as e-juice or vape oil, can contain different flavors, nicotine, CBD, or THC.

Vaping Tips for Beginners

Here are the quick and easy steps on how to vape CBD oil.

  1. You first have to breathe in through the mouthpiece.
  2. This airflow triggers a sensor that switches on a battery-powered heater coil.
  3. The heated coil warms up the e-liquid that is in a cartridge, creating a vapor of CBD.
  4. When you inhale again, you breathe this in.
  5. The sensor can also activate a light at the end of a vape pen to simulate the lit end of a traditional tobacco cigarette.

CBD vape cartridge is a smaller device that is often pre-filled and disposable. You may be able to refill specific cartridges, but only a few times. CBD vape pods are larger, and they are designed as refillable.

Final Thoughts on Vaping CBD

Vaping is a quick method of delivery for CBD users. You can carry your vape pen wherever you go. This is an advantage if you are using CBD to relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other health issues. It’s conveniently there when you need it. The delivery is quick and effective.

You can purchase your weed products, including vape devices and oils, from your local area pot shops. If you have a medical marijuana card, you can get your CBD from a marijuana dispensary. If you are unsure how to vape CBD oil, you can ask your licensed medical marijuana doctor or at your local cannabis dispensary.

How to Make THC Vape Juice

How to Make THC Vape Juice

As cigarettes become a thing of the past, vaping has become a replacement for many smokers. In general, research on both shows vaping can be healthier than smoking cigarettes. When you vape, you are consuming vapors, not inhaling smoke filled with toxic chemicals.

Not only is vaping a healthier alternative to smoking, but the oils also come in a variety of flavors. For the smoker trying to quit or cut down, the oils can be purchased with different levels of nicotine in a cigarette. You can also choose e-liquids that contain CBD and, in some locations, THC. Whether you want an e-juice with THC vs. CBD depends on the results you are looking for. CBD is the non-psychoactive ingredient in pot that has many health benefits. So does THC, but with the side-effect of getting you high.

What is THC Vape Juice?

E-juice, also known as e-liquid or vape oil, is the component of the vaping device that encompasses all the flavors, any nicotine, CBD, or THC. When heated, this juice is also the product that creates the vapor, giving the device its name. There are a wide variety of e-juice flavors to choose from. They can be mixed and matched to suit your personal tastes and needs.

THC juice

The main ingredients used in the base of vape juices are propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). These two products mixed together give the oil a smooth texture in which flavors and other chemicals, such as nicotine and THC, can be easily added to. Often the base oil is compromised of more propylene glycol than vegetable glycerin. Propylene Glycol creates a thicker consistency.

Some e-liquids are designed with a higher level of vegetable glycerin. A higher VG will create a better vapor cloud. This is a selling point for vape smokers looking for the sub-ohm factor. A higher VG liquid is also a good alternative e-juice for users that are sensitive or allergic to propylene glycol.

Safety-wise, propylene glycol has been used for more than fifty years in many household products. It’s an ingredient commonly utilized as a flavor carrier in foods, or a base ingredient in food coloring. It can also be found as an additive in medicines and in cosmetics.

Vegetable glycerin is not a chemical, but a plant-based product. VG is a clear, odorless liquid created from plant oils such as palm, coconut, or soy. The texture of vegetable glycerin is smooth, like the consistency of an oil or syrup. Vegetable glycerin is also used in foods and household items such as lotions, shampoos, and toothpaste. As an ingredient in consumer products, the VG used is required to be a USP grade. This is a 99% pure vegetable glycerin.

How to Use THC Vape Juice?

THC vape juice is used in weed vape pens or E-Juice vaporizers. A vape device is made up of a mouthpiece, atomizer, and cartridge that holds the e-liquid. Vape pens are thin, pen-like structures. They are a discrete way to carry your vape device with you.

Vaporizers, also called mods, are more substantial and less inconspicuous. Both vape pens and larger vaporizers are either pre-filled or are equipped to use vape cartridges. You can buy the cartridges pre-filled with vape oil or you can fill them with the e-liquid or liquids of your choice.

What are the Effects?

If you’re a newcomer to cannabis products, start with a low dosage of THC in your vape oil. The most common effects you get from vaping are like smoking a high THC strain of weed, no matter how low a dose. Vaping pot vs. smoking gives you a much stronger high with less product. E-liquid from a marijuana dispensary will have the ingredients labeled on the package, including THC level. Homemade e-juice is challenging to know the dose. It’s best to start with a low level of THC and work your way up slowly.

Homemade THC Vape Juice

You can make your own THC vape juice. As with any weed recipe, you first have to decarb your pot. Decarboxylation of marijuana is the way to activate the THC and CBD in any weed used to make edibles, or in this case, vape juice. The best method to create your weed vape juice will take some time and patience.

You’ll need:

  • Decarbed marijuana flowers or buds
  • Propylene Glycol
  • USP grade vegetable glycerin
  • Dark-colored jar with a tight-fitting lid
  • Cheesecloth
  • Rice press
  • Container for your vape juice

To decarb your cannabis, preheat your oven to 225 ° F. Spread the desired amount of broken-down buds evenly on a baking sheet. Remove any stems. Bake for approximately 30 to 60 minutes or when done. Your decarbed weed is ready when it’s changed from green to light brown in color. Take the pan out of the oven to let your cannabis cool.

cannabis oil

Place your decarbed marijuana into a dark-colored jar that has a tight-fitting lid. Mason jars for canning are an excellent choice. The dark color protects cannabis from sunlight that can weaken the potency of the mixture. Cover the decarbed weed with a 60/40 mix of the propylene glycol to vegetable glycerin. You want a bit more PG to create a thicker oil. If you are sensitive to PG, make the mixture with more VG. Stir the mixture thoroughly. Cover with the tight-fitting lid and store in a cool, dark place for approximately three months or so.

During the storage period, stir the mixture occasionally. If the blend becomes dry, add more of the propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin mixture. After three months, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth into a container for your marijuana vape juice. Place the strained mixture into a rice press to squeeze out any remaining liquid.

If you’re the kind of person where quicker is better, you can use a double-boiler for a faster recipe.

For this method, you’ll need either a double-boiler or two pans and a cooking thermometer. Follow the directions above, but instead of storing the mixture, place the jar in a double-boiler. If you don’t have a double-boiler, you can place a smaller pan inside a larger one. Add water to both. Place the jar in the smaller pan. Heat the water to approximately 180 °F. Simmer for one to four hours, depending on your patience level.

Stir the mixture frequently while simmering. When done, remove the jar from the pans and let cool slightly. Strain the mixture through the cheesecloth into your weed vape juice container. Give the cannabis mixture one more squeeze with the rice press to remove any remaining liquid. Your homemade marijuana vape juice is done!

You can use either recipe to make THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) vape juice for cartridges that fit a vape pen or a mod vaporizer.

California medical marijuana card

How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in California

Why get a Medical Marijuana Card in California?

Medical Marijuana Card For those of you lucky enough to live in California, you know it’s well-known for a variety of the most popular strains of marijuana. For residents of the sun and fun state, pot laws are some of the most lenient in the nation. Why would you need a medical marijuana card in California if it’s relatively easy to get your weed without it? There are a lot of reasons why having a medical marijuana card is a benefit for anyone that consumes cannabis.

California set a precedent when it became the first state to legalize the use of medical marijuana. Proposition 215, also known as the Medical Use Marijuana Initiative or the Compassionate Use Act, was approved on November 5, 1996, by a general election ballot. Again, in November 2016, Proposition 64 was passed. This took the legalization of marijuana a step further by allowing the recreational use of marijuana by adults 21 and over.

If the overall marijuana law in California is so lenient, why should you even think about getting a medical marijuana card? If you are a user, there are actually several excellent reasons to obtain a card.

Your first benefit is cost. You will pay less when purchasing weed with an ID card. Taxes on the products are lower, and they are exempt from state tax. The second reason is the marijuana you get at a cannabis shop is of a higher quality than in other places. Products at an unlicensed shop are not regulated. Their weed may contain dangerous additives. Lastly, as a cardholder, with a doctor’s approval, you are allowed to grow more plants than without a card. Three viable reasons to go through the approval process for a medical marijuana ID card.

How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in California?

Do you know how to get a medical marijuana card in California? There are basically two ways, traditional and modern. The traditional way is to go to a qualified doctor’s office. With modern technology, you can now apply online.

Whichever way you choose, there are several rules about who can get a card. Not everyone can qualify. To obtain a card from the state of California, you must be a resident that is 18 or over. Individuals under 18 can apply but must have the written approval of a parent or guardian. You also need to have either a state of California driver’s license or other government-issued ID.

What are the Qualifying Conditions Required to get a Medical Marijuana Card?

Medical Marijuana Card ConditionBeing diagnosed with a qualifying condition is the next step towards an MMJ card. This step isn’t as monstrous as it may seem. There are a wide variety of illnesses and conditions that meet the standards. Physical diseases and disorders include cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, arthritis, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, muscle spasms, seizure disorders, and side effects of radiation therapy.

Several mental health issues are also considered qualifying conditions, including anxiety and depression. Qualifying conditions are also those that fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These are described as “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.”

Methods to Get a Medical Marijuana Card

Traditional Method

To apply for a California medical marijuana card by the traditional method takes time. First, you have to find a doctor who is licensed to prescribe an MMJ card. Then you have to book an appointment that generally you probably have to wait weeks for. Once you get into the doctor’s office, you have forms to fill out, the physical exam, and the wait for the doctor to give you a letter of recommendation. This is the letter that gets you the MMJ card.

Modern Method

Here is how to get a medical marijuana card in California the better way. The modern method of applying online is easier and quicker. There are several portals you can apply through. When you register with a service, you will be connected with a licensed physician and given an evaluation online. When approved, you will receive a letter of recommendation by email and a hard copy by snail mail. Once you receive the letter by email, you can set up an ID code that will register you with the state’s medical marijuana program.

You may be able to use the letter of recommendation to purchase your marijuana products at the Los Angeles marijuana dispensary. With the letter, you will need to provide basic medical information, government ID or driver’s license, and proof of residency.

Costs

Costs for applying for a California medical marijuana card is relatively low, especially for Medi-Cal recipients. Medi-Cal is a program that offers free or low-cost health coverage for income-eligible children and adults in California. For non-Medi-Cal patients, the application for an MMJ ID is $66.00. The cost of the application for Medi-Cal recipients is $33.00. There is also an administration fee that varies per county.

Once you have your medical marijuana card, you can enjoy the benefits of high-quality, lower-cost cannabis products.

7 Factors that Affect Your Cannabis High

After work, on weekends, or for a morning energy boost, you enjoy your cannabis. You have your favorite strains for their flavor, and the high you get. There are a variety of reasons your high can differ, even if it’s the same strain you’ve consumed before.
Here are 7 factors that can affect your weed high, and a few tips on how to make your weed stronger.

Dose

smoking weed Smoking, vaping, or edibles, how you consume your weed, can alter the cannabis dose you’re getting. Edibles are the most difficult to dose. This is especially true for homemade foods. Each bite may have a different amount of pot, making your marijuana high unpredictable.
When smoking weed, you can actually see how much of the physical substance you’ve consumed. The benefit of pre-measured canisters in vape devices, is you know exactly the amount of e-liquid you started with. Store-bought products will generally have the ingredients listed on their packaging, including the amounts of THC and CBD. This can give you a clear idea of the amount of the weed compounds you are consuming. Your high also depends on the amount of THC vs CBD is in your weed. The greater the THC level, the more intense of a high you get.

Age

You hate to admit it, but just like with alcohol, your tolerance for a marijuana high seems to have gone down with the decades. It may not be your imagination. As we age, our bodies go through changes, not only in looks but in chemical composition. Our bodies make less of crucial vitamins, minerals, and other essential compounds. This can affect how you tolerate the chemicals in alcohol and weed. More than likely, you may get a weed high quicker and have more unpleasant side-effects. The key to being able to continue to enjoy your high is to go easy on the dose. Less is more. You may also want to consider choosing strains with lower levels of THC and higher amounts of CBD.

Tolerance

Your tolerance level is how much pot you can consume before you feel high or have hangover symptoms. Although we are all physically similar, each person has a different chemical makeup in their body due to a variety of factors. This can include age, overall health, and physical fitness level.
Your level of comfort with getting high can also affect your tolerance. One person may enjoy riding the wave of a weed high, while another person may become agitated or feel like they are not in control when they are too stoned. When trying a new strain, start with a low dose to see how it affects your body and your mind. Only up the amount you consume, if you feel comfortable with how high you are.

Terpenes

Terpenes, also known as terpenoids, are the chemicals that create the aromas in fruits, herbs, and other plants, including marijuana. Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system that creates compounds similar to terpenes in plants. When you consume weed, the terpenes in the substance interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors in your endocannabinoid system. Your body’s reaction depends on the terpene it comes into contact with. Some terpenes in food enhance your high, some lessen your high.

Cannabinoid Profile

The cannabinoid profile is the chemical makeup of a marijuana plant, including THC, CBD, and Terpenes. This is most commonly used to determine how much THC a plant has.

Food

cannabis edible Has this ever happened to you? You were enjoying your usual weed but felt a more intense high or less stoned. This seemed to happen either before or after you ate. Believe it or not, certain foods may alter your high. Foods with terpenes, high levels of vitamins and minerals, or omega 3 fatty acids may enhance your high. Other foods such as lemons, lemon water, and pine nuts may help to reduce the effects of your high. How to make your weed stronger? Eat healthy foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and terpenes such as sweet potatoes, nuts, broccoli, and tea. Go ahead and enjoy a beer with your pot. That will help too!

Method of usage

The way you consume your cannabis can also affect how high you are. Smoking and vaping are the quickest routes. It only takes a few minutes to start feeling the cerebral and body effects. Edibles are the slowest way. Be careful when consuming edibles. You may not feel high until several hours after eating weed products. Don’t go back for seconds until you’ve given the first round time to get through your system.

Cannabutter Recipe

cannabis butterBefore you start any marijuana recipe, it’s a must to decarboxylate your marijuana. This is known as decarbing. By baking your cannabis at a low temperature, you are releasing essential compounds from the buds, including THC and CBD. THC is the component that gives you the high. CBD has 0.3 % or less of THC. It can’t cause a high at that level. When using in potcorn or other marijuana products, THC vs. CBD depends on if you are looking for a high or just the health benefits of CBD.

Decarbing your marijuana:

  • Preheat oven to 220° F
  • Spread about ½ ounce of finely chopped marijuana evenly onto a baking sheet or in a glass baking dish
  • Bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, occasionally turning to prevent burning

The process is done when the buds have turned from a bright green to a darker brownish-green

Here’s a simple cannabutter recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 8 ounces melted butter of your choice
  • ½ ounce decarboxylated marijuana
  • You’ll also need a medium saucepan, a wooden spoon, a cooking thermometer, cheesecloths, and a container for your butter.
  • Place the water and butter in the medium pan and cook over very low heat
  • When the butter has melted, add your decarbed marijuana.
  • Mix well and gently simmer for approximately four hours, stirring frequently
  • Make sure the mixture doesn’t exceed 180 ° F
  • When the mixture has simmered for four hours, remove from heat and carefully strain through the cheesecloth into a container.

Cannabis-infused salted popcorn recipe:

You’ll need a medium-sized pan, and a large bowl.

Ingredients:

  • Popcorn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon oil of your choice (Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, grapeseed, safflower oil are all excellent choices.)
  • Cannabis-infused butter
  • Regular butter or margarine
  • Salt

Make the desired amount of popcorn. ½ cup of kernels makes approximately 15 cups of popcorn (about 6 to 7 servings). There are several ways to make popcorns, including with an air-popper, regular popcorn maker, in the microwave, or on the stovetop.

  • For stovetop popcorn, add a tablespoon of oil in a medium pan.
  • Place two to three kernels in the oil. When those kernels have popped, the pan is ready.
  • Add enough kernels to form a single, loose layer on the bottom of the pan.
  • Cover the pan with a well-fitting lid. When you hear popping, gently move the pan back and forth over the burner.
  • When the popping becomes sporadic, remove the pan from the heat and let sit for a minute.
  • Pour the cooked popcorn in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Place the pan on the stove over low heat.
  • Add your desired amount of cannabutter and regular butter.
  • When the butter is melted, remove from heat and slowly pour over the cooked popcorn. Stir the kernels to coat evenly.
  • Salt your marijuana popcorn to taste and enjoy!

When making your cannabis popcorn or any edibles, use a light hand when adding marijuana. The effects won’t hit you right away. Generally, it can take up to two hours to feel the high from an edible. You can purchase CBD and marijuana products at your local marijuana store, or dispensary.
